Kovachevtsi

The village of Kovachevtsi (303 inhabitants in 2001) is the center of the municipality. It is situated on the banks of river Svetlja(32 km long) between the mountains Rudini and Cherna gora, 55 km southwest from Sofia and 25 km southwest from Pernik. The river Svetlja flows through the whole municipality and runs into Pchelina Dam 3 km southern from Kovachevtsi. The climate is continental.
