Shabla

Shabla is a small town in North-Eastern Bulgaria. It is situated near one of the most interesting bird sites in the country - the Shabla Lake (with Shabla Tuzla), a Ramsar site, Important Bird Area, proposed by BSPB/BirdLife Bulgaria for inclusion in the European ecological network NATURA 2000.
The area is situated on one of the most significant bird migration flyways - Via Pontica, where thousands of birds fly over, sometimes in just a day.
